Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it

Narrated by Bukhari · Authentic hadith

عن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : «البُزَاق في المسجد خَطيئة، وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُها».

“Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it.””
