ONE HADITH A DAY

The Hour will not be established until people boast about mosques

Narrated by Abu Dāwūd, An-Nasā’i, and Ibn Mājah · Authentic

“Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until people boast about mosques."”

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that among the signs of the approaching Day of Judgment and the end of the world is that people will begin to boast about the decoration of their mosques or take pride in worldly matters within the mosques—though they were only built for the remembrance of Allah.
