When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died, the people said: Where is he to be buried?" Abu Bakr said: In the place where he died

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها ، قالت: لما مات النبيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قالوا: أين يُدْفنُ؟ فقال أبو بكر: في المكان الذي مات فيه.

“‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died, the people said: "Where is he to be buried?" Abu Bakr said: "In the place where he died."”
