ONE HADITH A DAY

I saw in my dream that I was using a tooth-stick when two men came to me, one of them older than the other. I gave the tooth-stick to the younger one, but I was told to give it to the older one first, so I did

عن عبد الله بن عمر رضي الله عنهما أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- قَالَ: «أراني في المنام أَتَسَوَّكُ بِسِوَاكٍ، فجاءني رجلان، أحدهما أكبر من الآخر، فَنَاوَلْتُ السِّوَاكَ الأصغرَ، فقيل لي: كَبِّرْ، فَدَفَعْتُهُ إلى الأكبر منهما».

“‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw in my dream that I was using a tooth-stick when two men came to me, one of them older than the other. I gave the tooth-stick to the younger one, but I was told to give it to the older one first, so I did."”
