عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ رَضيَ اللهُ عنه قَالَ: نَظَرْتُ إِلَى أَقْدَامِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ عَلَى رُءُوسِنَا وَنَحْنُ فِي الْغَارِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَهُمْ نَظَرَ إِلَى قَدَمَيْهِ أَبْصَرَنَا تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: «يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، مَا ظَنُّكَ بِاثْنَيْنِ اللهُ ثَالِثُهُمَا».
“Abu Bakr as-Siddīq (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When we were in the cave, I saw the feet of the polytheists as I raised my head, and I said: O Messenger of Allah, if one of them looked below his feet, he would see us. He said: "O Abu Bakr, what do you think of two persons, the third of whom is Allah?"”
