“Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who is riding should greet the one walking, the one who is walking should greet the one sitting, and the small group of people should greet the large one." A version of Al-Bukhāri reads: "The young should greet the old, the passerby should greet the one who is sitting, and the small group of people should greet the larger one."”
