ONE HADITH A DAY

A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting while traveling. He answered: If you wish then fast, and if you wish then do not fast

Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim · Authentic hadith

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها : "أن حَمْزَةَ بن عَمْرٍو الأَسْلَمِيَّ قال للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : أصوم في السفر؟ - وكان كثير الصيام- فقال: "إن شئتَ فصُم، وإن شئت فَأَفْطِرْ".

“‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Hamzah ibn ‘Amr al-Aslami asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "Should I fast while traveling?" - and he used to fast often - He answered: "If you wish then fast, and if you wish then do not fast."”
