War is deception

Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim · Authentic hadith

عن أبي هريرة وجابر رضي الله عنهما أنَّ النبيَّ -صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم- قالَ: «الْحَرْبُ خَدْعَةٌ».

“Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "War is deception."”
