ONE HADITH A DAY

A child is held in pledge for his ‘Aqīqah which should be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day after his birth, and he should be given a name, and his head should be shaved

عن سمرة قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : «الغلام مُرْتَهَنٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ يُذْبَحُ عنه يوم السابع، ويُسَمَّى، ويُحْلَق رأسه».

“Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A child is held in pledge for his ‘Aqīqah which should be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day after his birth, and he should be given a name, and his head should be shaved."”
