ONE HADITH A DAY
Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and others · Authentic
“Abu al-‘Abbās, ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) one day and he said: "Hey boy, I shall teach you some words: Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him at your side. If you ask, ask Allah; if you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that if the whole people gathered to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with what Allah has decreed for you, and if they gathered to harm you with something, they would not harm you except with what Allah has decreed against you. The pens have been lifted, and the scrolls have dried." In another version by other than At-Tirmidhi, it reads: "Be mindful of Allah, you will find Him before you. Recognize Allah at the time of prosperity, and He will recognize you at the time of adversity. And know that what had missed you was not going to befall you, and what had befallen you was not going to miss you. And know that victory comes with patience, relief comes with distress, and ease comes with hardship."”
